Effects of Mother-Implemented Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) Training on Independent Communicative Behaviors of Young Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders
Ju Hee Park, Sheila R. Alber‐Morgan, Helen I. Cannella‐Malone
SJR Q1Topics in Early Childhood Special Education

This study examined the effects of mother-implemented Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) training on the independent communication of three young children with autism spectrum disorders. Three mothers were trained to teach their child PECS Phases 1 through 3B, which they did with high integrity. Moreover, all three children successfully acquired independent picture exchanges that were generalized to a different communication partner and maintained for at least 1 month. Vocalizations ac

SJR Q2Applied SciencesOA

A technology for low-power high data-rate digital capsule endoscopy with human body communication (CEHBC) is presented in this paper. To transfer the image data stably with low power consumption, the proposed system uses three major schemes: Frequency selective digital transmission (FSDT) modulation with HBC, the use of an algorithm to select electrode pairs, and the LineSync algorithm. The FSDT modulation supports high-data rate transmission and prevents the signal attenuation effect. The selec

The smart-phone has become a necessity for most people. In this study, we determined that using a smart-phone for 20 minutes can cause increased neck and shoulder muscle activities and fatigue. Seventeen healthy male smart-phone users who attended Yonsei University played a smart-phone game for 20 minutes and changes in their bilateral cervical erector spinae and upper trapezius muscle activities and fatigue were measured. To assess muscle activities and fatigue, we used the following variables:

Dynamic Software Updates in Cyber-Physical Systems
Ju Hee Park, Dong Kwan Kim, Won-Tae Kim, Seung-Min Park

In Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), computer systems are invisible, but they are embedded in real-world entities, which are monitored and controlled. A key challenge of CPS is to assure high reliability in a scalable and dynamic computing environment in the presence of frequent data propagation among CPS nodes. To effectively manage such data delivery, CPS may need a data-centric middleware, such as the Data Distribution Service (DDS) specification, which makes it easy to deal with complicated data
