About the Lab
Professor Jung Kwon Lee's research lab focuses on preventive and population health, with a strong emphasis on chronic disease prevention, mental health, and lifestyle-related risk factors across diverse populations. The lab investigates the interplay between behavioral factors—such as substance use, diet, and stress—and long-term health outcomes, including cardiovascular disease, renal impairment, and cancer-related psychological distress. A significant portion of the work also explores bioactive compounds and their potential therapeutic applications in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, particularly through the development of novel phenolic acid-conjugated chitooligosaccharides. The lab integrates epidemiological, behavioral, and biochemical approaches to promote holistic health and wellness across the lifespan.
