Phase Controllable Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel with Iron(III) Ion–Catechol Induced Dual Cross-Linking by Utilizing the Gap of Gelation Kinetics
Jeong-Wook Lee, Kyeol Chang, Sunhye Kim, Vikas V. Gite, Hoeil Chung, Daewon Sohn
SJR Q1Macromolecules

Metal complexation-based gelation imparts load-bearing hydrogels with striking properties like reversibility, self-healing, and mechanical tunability. Using a bio-inspired metal–catechol complex, these properties have been introduced to a variety of polymer hydrogels, except hyaluronic acid, which is widely used in biological applications. In this research, we developed two different hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogels by regulating the gelation kinetics of Fe 3+ and a catechol cross-linker, includin

Preparation of Gradient Surfaces by Using a Simple Chemical Reaction and Investigation of Cell Adhesion on a Two‐Component Gradient
Jeong-Wook Lee, Inseong Choi, Woon‐Seok Yeo
SJR Q1Chemistry - A European Journal

This article describes a simple method for the generation of multicomponent gradient surfaces on self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on gold in a precise and predictable manner, by harnessing a chemical reaction on the monolayer, and their applications. A quinone derivative on a monolayer was converted to an amine through spontaneous intramolecular cyclization following first-order reaction kinetics. An amine gradient on the surface on a scale of centimeters was realized by modulating the exposure

Jeong-Wook Lee, Jae‐Hoon Kim
SJR Q2Applied SciencesOA

With the increasing number of social media users in recent years, news in various fields, such as politics, economics, and so on, can be easily accessed by users. However, most news spread through social networks including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram has unknown sources, thus having a significant impact on news consumers. Fake news on COVID-19, which is affecting the global population, is propagating quickly and causes social disorder. Thus, a lot of research is being conducted on the detec

In this paper, we proposed an algorithm for speech enhancement of speeches corrupted by colored noise. This paper examines the activities of the traditional performing arts group “Nondureongbatdureong” in the Gongju region, focusing on the reenactment nature of village pungmul music and the changing paths of its transmission within the cultural heritage of the region. In pre-modern society, pungmul was transmitted primarily through specialized performing groups and villages known as “Durepungjang.” However, with the dissolution of Dure, village pungmul-gut gradually lost its transmission power. Colloids and Surfaces

Catechol-functionalized materials have been widely studied due to improved adhesion and metal-catechol coordination properties. In this study, silica particles, which are the base material in a multitude of applications, were modified with catechol groups based on a surface grafting reaction via amine- and carboxylic acid-functionalized silica particles. The chemical compositions of the modified particles were analyzed using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TG
