About the Lab

Professor Ki-Woo Park's research lab specializes in information systems, knowledge management, and digital transformation within business and supply chain contexts. The lab focuses on understanding the dynamics of online information diffusion—particularly news and rumors—and their impact on corporate reputation, as well as the role of cultural and technological factors in virtual team performance and knowledge sharing. It also investigates the integration of IT and business strategy, especially in system integration, enterprise solutions (e.g., ERP, CRM), and the development of market-oriented MIS curricula. Additionally, the lab applies text mining and data analytics to explore cultural influences on consumer behavior, particularly in tourism and hospitality sectors.

www.kmis.or.kr

Cross Cultural Study on Behavioral Intention Formation in Knowledge Sharing

The implementation of Knowledge Management Systems does not guarantee knowledge sharing within organizations because knowledge sharing cannot be mandated. Although previous investigations have attempted to identify the motivational factors that facilitate knowledge sharing, the results of these studies cannot be easily applied across organizations due to the highly context‐specific nature of knowledge sharing. Societal culture, as well as organizational culture, affects knowledge sharing behavio

Impact of Culture on Virtual Teams’ Performance
Tushar Jain

Since ‘virtual teams’ are not bounded by geographical dimensions, culture becomes an important determinant of their success. Though cultural diversity provides unique opportunities to build up new ideas, it can also create problems in the midst of individual interactions and eventually result in poor performance. With little research on this topic, this study examines the relationship between culture and virtual teams’ performance. An experiment was conducted followed by the survey based on subj

Standard Chartered Bank has developed a Web-based B2B exchange called B2BeX, a banking solution that supported international e-trade. B2BeX was later expanded to supply chain finance (SFC), and integrated with the working-capital requirements of the supply chain. This feature ensures stickiness for B2BeX, and makes it difficult for users to turn over to competitors’ systems. Via the implementation of a banking solution, Standard Chartered Bank was able to address many of the legal, credibility,

Malicious rumors often emerge online. However, few studies have examined why people spread online rumors. Recognizing that spreading online rumors is not only rational, but also emotional, this paper provides insights into the behavior of online rumor spreading using the cognitive emotion theory. The results show that perceived credibility of online rumors enhances both positive and negative emotions. However, positive emotions affect neither attitude nor behavior, whereas negative emotions affe

Online retail is a growing opportunity for retailers and consumers. Cross-buying provides companies with an opportunity to increase their revenue contributions from existing consumers. In many fields, especially in the service sector, cross-selling is an easier strategy to use relative to increasing revenue rather than acquiring new consumers. Website personalization has been a powerful indispensable tool for web-based companies and end users. Using the Mehrabian and Russell’s Stimulus-Organism-
