About the Lab
Professor Lee Seunghwan's research lab focuses on interdisciplinary biomedical and materials science research, with key strengths in spinal cord injury repair, musculoskeletal modeling and control, and the physical properties of functional materials. The lab investigates neuroprotective agents like minocycline for functional recovery after spinal cord injury, develops advanced computational models for human movement simulation using deep reinforcement learning, and explores magnetoresistive phenomena in half-metallic ferromagnets. Additionally, the lab examines biolubrication mechanisms of mucin proteins and the taxonomic complexity of insect pests using molecular genetics.

15Recent studies suggest that the intracoronary administration of bone marrow (BM)-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) may improve left ventricular function in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). However, there is still argumentative for the safety and efficacy of MSCs in the AMI setting. We thus performed a randomized pilot study to investigate the safety and efficacy of MSCs in patients with AMI. Eighty patients with AMI after successful reperfusion therapy were randomly assigned
AIMS: This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and safety of the left distal transradial approach (ldTRA) as a default route for coronary angiography (CAG) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). METHODS AND RESULTS: Between October 2017 and January 2018, 200 consecutive patients were enrolled in a single centre. The left distal radial artery was punctured with a 20-gauge venipuncture catheter needle by three expert left radial approach operators. The success rates of arterial puncture

Purpose: In order to gain insight into the physicians’ awareness of and attitude towards management of overactive bladder (OAB) in males, we performed a nationwide survey of the current strategies that urologists use to diagnose and manage OAB in male patients. Materials and Methods: A probability sample was taken from the Korean Urological Association Registry of Physicians, and a random sample of 289 Korean urologists were mailed a structured questionnaire that explored how they manage benign
Purpose: Leuprorelin is a well known luteinizing hormone releasing hormone agonist. However, there are insufficient data on the efficacy and safety of high dose leuprorelin acetate, especially in Asian patients with prostate cancer. We aimed to investigate the safety and efficacy of leuprorelin acetate 22.5 mg administered at three-month intervals in patients with prostate cancer. Materials and Methods: In an open, prospective clinical trial enrolling 47 patients, we aimed to assess the efficacy
BACKGROUND: Distal radial access (DRA) has emerged as an alternative to transradial access (TRA) in coronary procedures. However, evidence supporting its use in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) remains limited. OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this study was to assess whether DRA is noninferior to TRA in patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for STEMI. METHODS: This multicenter, open-label, randomized controlled trial was conducted at 3 centers in South
Traditionally, corporate finance has consisted of equity finance and debt finance. However the recent trend called ‘Mezzanine Finance’ combines the elements of both debt and equity and is consisted of mezzanine loan and hybrid security. Mezzanine loan has been clearly categorized as debt, but hybrid security has characterizations of both equity and debt. Hybrid securities were frist introduced to Korean financial system during the 1998 Financial Crisis when the Basel Committee of the Bank of Int
