About the Lab

Professor Min-ju Choi's research lab focuses on infectious disease epidemiology, with a strong emphasis on respiratory and systemic infections in adult populations, particularly community-acquired pneumonia, human metapneumovirus, and group B Streptococcus. The lab also investigates novel antimicrobial therapies, including laser-based antifungal treatments for onychomycosis, and conducts comparative safety analyses of COVID-19 vaccines using large-scale national health data. A key strength lies in integrating clinical microbiology with population-level epidemiological research to inform public health policy and vaccine strategies.
