About the Lab
Professor Moon Young Kim's research lab focuses on hepatic fibrosis and portal hypertension, with an emphasis on identifying non-invasive diagnostic biomarkers and understanding the hemodynamic and vascular remodeling processes in advanced liver disease. The lab integrates clinical hepatology with advanced imaging techniques such as contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and genomic analysis to improve the assessment of liver fibrosis and portal hypertension. A key research direction involves evaluating the prognostic significance of sarcopenia and its interaction with established clinical scores like MELD and CTP in cirrhotic patients.
