About the Lab
Professor Myeonghyun Son's research lab focuses on the immunological and molecular mechanisms underlying allergic and respiratory diseases, with a particular emphasis on the role of chitinase-like proteins—especially YKL-40 (CHI3L1) and BRP-39—in inflammation, tissue remodeling, and lung injury. The lab investigates the pathogenesis of asthma, atopy, and atopic dermatitis, exploring the interplay between adipokines, allergens (such as cockroach), and immune responses.
