About the Lab

Professor Oh Mi-Ae's research lab focuses on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) across the lifespan, with a strong emphasis on early identification, culturally adapted assessment tools, and evidence-based interventions. The lab investigates biological markers of mitochondrial dysfunction in ASD, develops and validates culturally sensitive screening instruments like BeDevel for Korean toddlers, and translates and adapts social skills interventions such as PEERS®-YA for Korean young adults. Research spans from neurobiological mechanisms to psychosocial interventions, integrating clinical, developmental, and cultural perspectives.
