About the Lab
Professor Park Jin-Kyung's research lab focuses on translational biomedical research with a strong emphasis on adolescent health, neurocognitive assessment, and environmental health risks. The lab investigates metabolic syndrome and obesity in adolescents across different populations, evaluates the diagnostic accuracy of screening tools like the Beck Depression Inventory and clock drawing test for mental health conditions, and explores the health impacts of environmental exposures such as extremely low frequency magnetic fields. The lab also engages in materials science, particularly in the development of functional nanomaterials and biomaterials for biomedical applications, including cryoprotectants and silver nanoparticles. These interdisciplinary efforts reflect a commitment to improving early diagnosis, prevention, and treatment strategies for chronic and mental health conditions in youth.
