Professor Sang Chul Lee's research lab specializes in clinical and translational studies in interventional pain management and anesthesiology, with a focus on improving procedural safety and accuracy through advanced imaging techniques. The lab investigates fluoroscopy- and ultrasound-guided interventions such as lumbar sympathetic ganglion blocks, evaluates epidural anesthesia techniques, and explores the physiological and pharmacological effects of anesthetics in experimental models. For evaluating the effects of thoracic epidural anesthesia, with or without bilateral vagotomy, epinephrine-induced arrhythmias were studied in 31 rabbits anesthetized with 1 minimum alveolar concentration of enflurane. We divided the rabbits into 5 groups: Group I (epidural saline as control group; n=6), Group II (epidural lidocaine without vagotomy; n=6), Group III (intravenous lidocaine; n=7), Group IV (epidural saline with vagotomy; n=6), and Group V (epidural lidocaine with vagotomy; n=6).

In this paper, we describe the development and performance evaluation of a 3-dimentional (3-D) high-resolution x-ray microtomography (micro-CT) system. Unlike a conventional micro-CT, the developed system uses a flat-panel detector as a digital x-ray imager. The detector is a CsI:Tl (thallium-doped cesium iodide) scintillator coupled to an active-matrix photodiode array with a pixel pitch of 50 [μm]. 이 연구는 <파이드로스>의 해제를 통해 플라톤이 그리스 레토릭의 개념과 이론 정립에 어떤 기여를 하였는가를 탐구하였다. 그리스 당대의 소피스트들과 달리 플라톤은 설득 커뮤니케이션의 개념을 어떻게 규정하고 있고 어떤 측면을 강조하였는가를 살펴보았다. 레토릭에 대한 부정적 관점으로 일관한 <고르기아스>와 달리 <파이드로스>에서는 레토릭에 관해 긍정적 가치를 어떻게 제시하고 있는가를 분석하였다. <파이드로스>에서 제기한 레토릭과 변증법과의 관계에 대한 논의를 통해 설득 커뮤니케이션의 목적과 수단에 대한 플라톤의 관점을 검토하였다. 플라톤은 자신의 변증법적 방법론을 ‘훌륭한 레토릭’의 구성과 조직의 규범 제시에 어떻게 적용하고 있는가를 검토하였으며 변증법적 ‘훌륭한 레토릭’의 절차와 방법에 대한 규범을 살펴보았다. 플라톤은 <파이드로스>에서 그의 철학적 논제인 영혼론, 에로스론, 형상론등을 로고스, 파토스, 에토스 혹은 화자, 청자 등과 같은 레토릭의 개념에 어떻게 적용하고 있는 가를 고찰

A Study on the Distance from the Skin to the Lumbar Epidural Space in Korean Obstetric Population

The distance from the skin to the lumbar epidural space was measured in 87 women undergoing cesarean section(C/S) and 36 patients undergoing total abdominal hysterectomy(TAH) to compare with the C/S group. The patients age, height, most recent antenatal or preopertive weight, and shoe size were obtained before measuring the epidural depth. The PI(ponderal index) was caculated by dividing weight(kg) by height(m). In patients undergoing total hysterectomy, the mean distance was found to be 4.42 cm
