Professor Sang-Joon Kim's research lab specializes in the design and application of advanced nanomaterials for next-generation sensing and energy technologies. The lab focuses on developing bioinspired, nanostructured semiconductor metal oxides (SMOs) and bimetallic catalysts—particularly Pt-based systems—functionalized via protein templates for highly sensitive and selective chemical sensing.
