15This large single-center study of laparoscopic surgery for left-sided pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma indicated that LDP was safe and more efficacious than OPD after propensity score adjustment for presurgical variables of return to diet and length of stay.
This study may help to understand the genetic feature of pancreatic cancer and its survival effect in our population. This shows that additional genetic insights would contribute to the improvement of patients' prognosis.

Genetic status of DPC4 contributes to the recurrence patterns following pancreatectomy, and patients with an initially expressed DPC4 gene receive a greater benefit from intensive local control for locoregional recurrence. The DPC4 gene, therefore, may aid the establishment of treatment strategies for initial adjuvant treatment or for recurrent PDAC.

Wild rice, Oryza grandiglumis shows hyper-resistance response to pathogen infection. In order to identify genes necessary for defense response in plants, we have carried out a subtractive hybridization coupled with a cDNA macroarray. BACKGROUND: The present study aimed to determine the optimal timing of pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) following preoperative biliary drainage (PBD) with consideration of postoperative morbidity and survival. METHODS: Between January 2007 and December 2015, consecutive 1,568 patients underwent PD at a single institution. Their data were reviewed retrospectively.
