About the Lab

Professor Seon-Young Lee's research lab focuses on the intersection of psychological factors and health outcomes in chronic illness, particularly cancer, exploring how emotions, self-efficacy, and interpersonal competence influence health information seeking and patient well-being. The lab also conducts genomic and clinical research on cancer progression, especially colorectal and cervical cancers, investigating somatic mutations, metastasis, and the therapeutic potential of hyperthermia. Additionally, the lab examines the psychological and social development of gifted youth, with a focus on emotional intelligence, moral judgment, and peer relationships. The integration of behavioral science and biomedical research defines the lab’s multidisciplinary approach to improving patient care and health outcomes.
