About the Lab
Professor Seong Ho Yoo's research lab focuses on translational and clinical studies in hepatology, particularly the role of immune mediators like interleukin-22 in chronic liver diseases. The lab also investigates the cellular origins of rare tumors, such as sclerosing hemangioma, using immunohistochemical approaches. Additionally, the lab conducts population-based epidemiological research on sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and geriatric health, emphasizing environmental and demographic risk factors. This study examines the factors related to the frequency of senior center participation in Korea. The analyses are based on a sample of 316 Koreans, aged 65 and over, participating at a senior center in Chon-An City. The results show that gender, level of education, and health are statistically significant predictors of participation. That is, male Korean elderly, those who have a higher level of education, and those with better self-assessed health are more likely to participate at the center.
