Professor Seseon Kim's research lab specializes in the development of advanced nanomaterials and bioimaging probes for biomedical applications, with a focus on designing smart, responsive nanosystems for real-time disease detection and therapeutic monitoring. The lab integrates synthetic chemistry, materials science, and molecular biology to create functional nanoparticles—such as conjugated polymer and chemiluminescent nanoprobes—that enable sensitive, in vivo imaging of biological processes like lymphatic mapping and endogenous hydrogen peroxide signaling.
