Professor Seung Ho Choi's research lab specializes in surgical oncology and minimally invasive surgical techniques, with a focus on improving outcomes in gastrointestinal malignancies such as gastric and colorectal cancer. Thirty-one patients with endochondral pseudocysts of the auricle were seen over a four-year period in the Department of Surgery at the University of Hong Kong. The lesions chiefly affected Chinese males (90.3%); 80.6% involved the scaphoid fossa on the anterior surface of the pinna. They were usually asymptomatic and static in size. We observe the formation of optical precursors while propagating 540 fs pulses through 700 mm of deionized water. The launched pulses were strongly chirped to give them a bandwidth of approximately 60 nm to more readily excite the precursors. The precursors attenuated nonexponentially with distance.
CD44 is a family of cell-surface adhesion molecules which exist in several isoforms arising from mRNA alternative. A survey to evaluate the current status of bariatric and metabolic operations in Korea was conducted. Data from 5467 cases (32 hospitals) were collected. The annual numbers of bariatric and metabolic operations increased each year, from 139 in 2003 to 1686 in 2013.
