About the Lab
Professor Seung Ro Lee's research lab specializes in medical imaging, neuroprotection in stroke, and advanced computational methods in metal forming processes. The lab conducts clinical and preclinical studies on traumatic brain injury and facial fractures, with a focus on neuroimaging and biomarkers, while also advancing machine learning and finite element modeling for industrial applications in metal forming. Key research directions include the neuroprotective mechanisms of PARP inhibitors in ischemic stroke and the development of AI-driven preform design for forging processes using 3D convolutional neural networks. 15A series of 210 patients with facial fractures sufficiently severe to require cranial computerized tomography (CT) to evaluate suspected closed-head injury (CHI) was studied. The injuries were separated into five grades of severity based on neurological examination, including cranial CT. Basal cell adenoma is a rare benign salivary gland epithelial tumor, usually involving the parotid gland. We report CT and MR findings of three cases with basal cell adenoma occurring in the parotid gland. The three cases presented here demonstrate a well-circumscribed tumor, which showed a cystic and solid, or the pure solid mass. They were well enhanced after contrast matter injection. We report a case of hypereosinophilia causing multiple areas of cerebral infarcts. A 52-year-old Korean man presented with dysarthria and weakness in both arms. A brain MRI revealed multiple acute infarcts in the distal border zone with focal intracerebral hemorrhage, whereas a cerebral angiogram was not remarkable. Subglandular meningiomas located under the pituitary gland are extremely rare. Intrasellar meningiomas in the subdiaphragmatic and subglandular region probably originate from the dura in the sellar floor.
