Professor Seung Woo Park's research lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying pancreatic cancer and cholangiocarcinoma, with particular emphasis on early carcinogenesis, tumor microenvironment, and prognostic biomarkers. The lab investigates key transcription factors like Oct4 and Nanog in pancreatic carcinogenesis, explores the role of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 in hepatocarcinogenesis using zebrafish models, and identifies critical factors like VEGF-C in lymph node metastasis of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The lab also contributes to clinical diagnostics, including the application of FDG-PET and novel criteria for autoimmune pancreatitis.
