7최근으로 올수록 대학 진학 당시 정하게 되는 전공에 더해 재학 중 다른 전공을 추가 선택하는 다양한 제도들에 대한 사회적 관심과 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 기존 연구들은 대체로 이들 제도의 효과성에 대해 분석해 온 반면, 어떤 학생들이 어떻게 단일전공을 넘어 복수전공을 선택하게 되는지에 대한 연구는 드물었다. 우리 연구는 대졸자직업이동경로조사 데이터와 순차서열로짓모형을 이용해 복수전공 여부 및 높은 편익을 기대할 수 있는 복수전공 선택 여부가 젠더와 사회경제적 지위(가족배경)와 기존 성취 지위(원전공 및 대학 특성)에 따라 어떻게 달라지는지 분석했다. 분석 결과는 크게 네 가지로 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 고학력 부모 자녀들일수록, 상위권 대학 진학자일수록 복수전공 참여 확률이 높았다. 둘째, 비이공계열 전공자들일수록 복수전공 확률은 높아졌으나 높은 편익을 기대할 수 있는 복수전공 선택 가능성은 원전공이 이공계열 및 높은 편익 기대 전공일수록 오히려 높아졌다. 셋째, 전반적으로 기존의
