Professor Shin Hye Chung's research lab specializes in biomaterials and oral implantology, focusing on the development and evaluation of advanced implant materials and surface modifications to enhance osseointegration and clinical performance. Key research directions include the synthesis and characterization of doped hydroxyapatite for improved osteoconductivity, the optimization of 3D printing technologies for dental restorations, and the biomechanical and biological evaluation of implant surfaces—particularly titanium-zirconium oxide coatings and surface topographies—under functional loading.
