About the Lab
Professor Shin Sung Hee's research lab focuses on psychosocial and behavioral health, particularly within aging populations, family systems, and vulnerable groups such as adolescents and nurses in Korea. The lab investigates key factors influencing life satisfaction, self-esteem, resilience, and mental health across different family structures and caregiving contexts. Research directions include dementia prevention behaviors in elderly couples, the impact of family dynamics on adolescent adjustment, and burnout among healthcare professionals, with an emphasis on psychological capital, social support, and family resilience. The lab employs quantitative, survey-based methodologies to inform public health policy and intervention strategies in South Korea and beyond.
