About the Lab
Professor Si Eun Lee's research lab specializes in maternal-fetal medicine and medical imaging, with a focus on improving diagnostic accuracy for obstetric complications through innovative biomarker analysis and radiomics. The lab investigates inflammatory and biochemical markers in amniotic fluid—such as placental alpha-microglobulin-1, prostaglandins, and matrix metalloproteinases—to predict preterm birth and intra-amniotic inflammation. It also pioneers radiomics-based approaches using ultrasound texture analysis to differentiate aggressive triple-negative breast cancer from benign fibroadenomas. Additionally, the lab explores the therapeutic potential of traditional medicinal plants, such as *Euryale ferox*, through in vitro evaluation of antioxidant and cytoprotective properties.
