About the Lab

Professor Soojin Lee's research lab focuses on applied health and food science, with a strong emphasis on human factors, occupational health, and the nutritional quality of functional foods. The lab investigates the impact of lifestyle factors—such as shift work and leisure involvement—on health outcomes including vitamin D levels, sleep quality, and mental well-being. It also explores the physicochemical and bioactive properties of traditional Korean foods, particularly through processing techniques like steaming (e.g., blacked jujube), to enhance their health benefits and usability. Additionally, the lab contributes to industrial diagnostics, such as fault detection in power transformers using gas analysis methods.

Handle grip span for optimising finger-specific force capability as a function of hand size

Five grip spans (45 to 65 mm) were tested to evaluate the effects of handle grip span and user's hand size on maximum grip strength, individual finger force and subjective ratings of comfort using a computerised digital dynamometer with independent finger force sensors. Four combustible gases (hydrogen, acetylene, ethylene and methane) generated by internal faults in transformers were selected in this paper to diagnose faults, and two diagnosis methods are proposed. One consists in distinguishing between faults based on the relative percentage of these four gases, and the other in using combinations of the relative percentage of two of these four gases. Accuracy of the proposed diagnosis methods was verified using IEC TC 10 and related databases.

본 연구는 다양한 생리활성을 지닌 도라지의 활용성을 증가 및 다양화시키기 위해 증숙을 통하여 흑도라지를 제조하고 품질특성을 측정하였다. 일반성분 중 수분함량은 흑도라지가 73.96%로 도라지에 비해 함량이 낮았으며, 조회분, 조지방 및 조단백질의 함량은 생도라지와 흑도라지의 함량이 유사하여 큰 변화는 보이지 않았다. 반면 흑도라지의 조섬유 함량은 생도라지에 비해 감소하였으며, 반면 탄수화물의 양은 증가하였다. 또한 유리당 및 유기산은 흑도라지가 생도라지에 비해 매우 높은 함량을 나타내었다. 유리아미노산 함량은 생도라지와 흑도라지 모두 arginine이 대부분을 차지하였고, 구성아미노산은 glutamic acid의 함량이 가장 높게 나타났으며, 유리 및 구성 아미노산의 총 함량은 생도라지에 비해 흑도라지의 함량이 낮게 측정되었다. 도라지의 주요 무기질은 칼륨, 칼슘 및 마그네슘으로 나타났으며, 구리를 제외한 대부분의 무기질은 생도라지가 흑도라지에 비해 다소 많은 함량을 나타내었으나 그

본 연구는 다양한 생리활성을 지닌 도라지를 이용하여 흑도라지를 제조하고 이들의 항산화 활성 및 항균 활성을 일반 도라지와 비교하여 측정하였다. 흑도라지는 도라지를 <TEX>$60^{\circ}C$</TEX> 항온기에서 15일간 증숙한 후 <TEX>$30^{\circ}C$</TEX> dry oven에서 3시간 건조하여 제조하였다. 총 폴리페놀 함량은 흑도라지의 메탄올 추출물이 28.38 mg/g으로 가장 높았다. 흑도라지가 생도라지보다 폴리페놀 함량이 높았으며, 메탄올 추출물이 열수 추출물에 비해 더 높은 함량을 나타냈다. DPPH 및 ABTS 라디칼 소거능은 흑도라지 메탄올 추출물이 가장 높은 소거능을 나타내었다. 본 연구에서는 살균 온도에 따른 사과주스의 이화학적 특성과 영양성분 및 기능성을 분석하였다. pH는 저온살균 사과주스가 고온살균 사과주스보다 약간 높았으며, 적정산도는 고온살균 사과주스가 저온살균 사과주스보다 높았다. 두 시료의 가용성 고형분 함량은 동일하였으며, 색도는 고온살균 사과주스의 명도가 높았으며, 황색도와 적색도의 경우는 저온살균 사과주스가 약간 더 높게 나타났다. 환원당 함량은 고온살균 사과주스가 저온살균 사과주스보다 높은 경향을 나타냈다. 두 시료 모두 칼륨과 malic acid 함량이 가장 많았다. 유리 아미노산의 총 함량은 고온살균 사과주스가 높았으며, aspartic acid와 glutamic acid의 함량이 그 중 가장 높게 나타났다. 총 폴리페놀 함량은 저온살균 사과주스가 고온살균 사과주스 보다 유의적으로 높았으며, 라디칼 소거능에서는 DPPH 라디칼 소거능은 저온살균 사과주스가 고온살균 주스에 비해 유의적으로 높았으며, xanthine oxidase 저해

무용/동작 프로그램이 ADHD 아동의 주의집중력에 미치는 영향

이 연구는 ADHD 아동을 대상으로 무용/동작 치료 프로그램이 주의집중력 증진에 미치는 효과를 실증적으로 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 ADHD 성향을 나타내는 총 10명의 남자아동(나이: 6.6±0.7)을 선정하였다. 이렇게 선정된 아동들 중에서 무용/동작 치료에 참여 5명을 실험집단으로 분류하였으며, 나머지 5명 아동들을 비교집단으로 분류하였다. 실험집단의 아동들은 무용치료 프로그램 1회에 50분, 일주일에 3회, 총 10회를 받도록 하였으며, 실시전후 실험집단과 비교집단에 주의력 결핍행동과 주의집중력을 측정하여 무용프로그램 전후 및 집단간 차이가 있는지 이원변량분석 혼합설계(two-way ANOVA mixed design)를 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 10회의 무용치료는 ADHD 아동의 주의력 결핍행동을 통계적으로 유의하게 낮춰주며, 주의집중력도 유의하게 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다(p<.05).
