Professor Sook-Hyang Jeong's research lab specializes in viral hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) biomarkers, with a focus on understanding the immunological responses to hepatitis viruses and identifying novel diagnostic tools. The lab investigates hepatitis A and C virus pathogenesis, vaccine development using virus-like particles, and the clinical utility of biomarkers such as AFP, DKK-1, and osteopontin (OPN) in HCC diagnosis. We have previously reported the production of hepatitis C virus-like particles (HCV-LP) using a recombinant baculovirus containing the cDNA of the HCV structural proteins (core, E1, and E2).
