About the Lab

Professor Soon Jin Lee's research lab focuses on gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases, with a particular emphasis on cholangiocarcinoma pathology, stent placement for malignant obstructions, and autoimmune and inflammatory conditions affecting the eyes and central nervous system. The lab investigates the immunological mechanisms underlying diseases such as ocular cicatricial pemphigoid and multiple sclerosis, using molecular techniques to analyze T-cell clonality and cytokine regulation. Additionally, the lab explores diagnostic and interventional strategies, including radiological findings and endoscopic stenting, for improving patient outcomes in malignant biliary and gastric outlet obstructions.
