About the Lab
Professor Sung Won Lee's research lab focuses on urological and andrological disorders, with a primary emphasis on male sexual health, including androgenetic alopecia, premature ejaculation, chronic prostatitis, and male infertility. The lab investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions, particularly the roles of hormones like testosterone and finasteride, ion channels (e.g., Hv1 and potassium channels), and pharmacological interventions such as topical finasteride and tamsulosin. The research integrates clinical studies, electrophysiology, and translational approaches to develop targeted, safer therapies for urological and reproductive health.

Tamsulosin was associated with significantly higher stone expulsion rate and shorter expulsion time in proximal UC ≤ 6 mm compared with conservative managements only.
