About the Lab
Professor Sung-Kyu Lee's research lab specializes in the development and characterization of advanced refractory metal coatings and thin films for extreme environment applications. 3Rhenium coatings were fabricated on a graphite substrate at 1100 and 1250 o C and a molybdenum substrate at 1150 and 1250 o C by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using ReCl 5 precursor, and the effects of deposition temperatures and substrates on microstructure and crystal orientation were investigated.
