About the Lab
Professor Won-Ji Yu's research lab focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying aggressive solid tumors, particularly triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), pancreatic cancer, and gastric cancer. The lab investigates key signaling pathways such as RAS/ERK and Wnt/β-catenin, which drive tumor progression and therapy resistance, with an emphasis on identifying novel therapeutic targets and developing small-molecule inhibitors that simultaneously degrade oncoproteins like β-catenin and RAS. The lab also pioneers the use of liquid biopsy technologies, including low-pass whole-genome sequencing of circulating tumor DNA, to detect somatic copy number aberrations and improve prognostic and predictive biomarker discovery in metastatic and neoadjuvant settings.
