About the Lab

Professor Yangjong Lee's research lab focuses on translational biomedical research with a strong emphasis on cancer biology, vascular protection, and metabolic regulation. The lab investigates the origins and progression of ovarian serous cancer, particularly in genetically susceptible populations, while also exploring novel vasculoprotective compounds like 3-hydroxybenzaldehyde (3-HBA) in vascular smooth muscle and endothelial cells. Additionally, the lab examines intestinal glucose homeostasis mechanisms, especially following bariatric surgery or AREG administration, revealing new insights into GLUT1 regulation. The team also contributes to neurodegenerative disease research, particularly cerebellar atrophy in progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).
