Professor Yoon, Chang Hwan's research lab focuses on vascular biology and regenerative medicine, with a central emphasis on endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) and outgrowth endothelial cells (OECs) in tissue repair and neovascularization. BACKGROUND: Cell therapy is a promising option to improve functional recovery after ischemia. Several subsets of bone marrow-derived cells were shown to reduce infarct size and increase ejection fraction in experimental models of ischemia. An elevation in the BNP level is determined by the functional status of the right and left ventricles in patients with isolated, severe TR.
