About the Lab
Professor Youngsook Kim's research lab specializes in reading development and early literacy, with a focus on the cognitive and linguistic foundations of reading comprehension in children. The lab investigates how low-level language skills (e.g., vocabulary, syntax), cognitive abilities (e.g., working memory, theory of mind), and reading fluency (oral and silent) contribute to reading comprehension across early grades. Longitudinal and structural equation modeling approaches are commonly used to examine growth trajectories and mediating mechanisms in literacy development.

ABSTRACT: Volatile compounds in fermented and acid‐hydrolyzed soy sauces were isolated and analyzed using solvent extraction and solid‐phase microextraction.
