Professor Yun-Sun Chung's research lab specializes in medical physics and radiation oncology, focusing on improving image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and treatment planning through advanced imaging systems and quality assurance. The lab investigates image quality characterization of novel imaging technologies such as HyperSight and Halcyon CBCT, as well as dosimetric and biological modeling for safer, more effective radiotherapy. Research also extends to radiobiological modeling, particularly thyroid iodine kinetics in populations with unique dietary profiles, and refractory materials in metallurgical processes, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to radiation safety and treatment optimization.
