Professor Baek-il Kim's research lab specializes in biomaterials and oral health, focusing on the development and evaluation of nano-sized bioactive materials for dental applications. The lab investigates the remineralization potential of fluoride and carbonate apatite-based agents, particularly through innovative delivery methods like iontophoresis. It also explores the clinical and biological correlates of masticatory function, periodontal disease, and dental plaque using advanced imaging and molecular techniques. The research integrates in vitro, in vivo, and clinical studies to improve preventive and therapeutic strategies in restorative and preventive dentistry.
