研究室紹介

Professor Eun Lee's research spans multiple interdisciplinary domains, primarily focusing on the neurobiological and clinical aspects of sleep disorders, depression, and cognitive health in aging populations. Her work also extends to the neurochemical and structural brain changes associated with alcohol use disorder, as well as the development and evaluation of digital cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia and its impact on comorbid mental health conditions. Additionally, she has contributed to pediatric respiratory research, particularly in toxic inhalational injury-related interstitial lung disease, and has a strong background in organic synthesis, as evidenced by her work on total synthesis of natural products. Her research integrates clinical, neuroimaging, and molecular approaches to understand disease mechanisms and improve mental and neurological health outcomes.

STUDY OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to examine the associations between the temporal and severity characteristics of sleep disturbance and subsequent depression in community-dwelling older adults. DESIGN: A prospective cohort study with assessment of sleep disturbance and depression at baseline and across 2 years of follow-up. SETTING: Three urban communities in the United States. PARTICIPANTS: Community-dwelling older adults in whom prior depression (n = 145), current depression (

Digital cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia on depression and anxiety: a systematic review and meta-analysis

SJR Q1npj Digital MedicineOA

Despite research into the development of digital cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (dCBT-I), research into the outcomes of dCBT-I on insomnia and the associated clinical conditions of depression and anxiety have been limited. The PubMed, PsycINFO (Ovid), Embase, and Cochrane databases were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on adult patients with insomnia also having reported measures of depressive or anxiety symptoms. In total, 2504 articles were identified after duplicate

Using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy and magnetic resonance imaging, we investigated concentrations of various brain metabolites, including glutamate, and measured brain volumes and neuropsychological performances in 13 recently abstinent young alcoholic men compared with 18 controls. No differences were found in volumetric variables between groups (intracranial volume, white matter, grey matter, anterior cingulate, insula, hippocampus, and amygdala). For the anterior cingulate, choline

Interstitial lung disease in children (chILD) is a group of disorders characterized by lung inflammation and interstitial fibrosis. In the past recent years, we noted an outbreak of child in Korea, which is possibly associated with inhalation toxicity. Here, we report a series of cases involving toxic inhalational injury-associated chILD with bronchiolitis obliterans pattern in Korean children. This study included 16 pediatric patients confirmed by lung biopsy and chest computed tomography, betw

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the risk of incident dementia according to fasting glucose levels and presence of comorbidities. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS: Using a health insurance claims database and the results of biennial health examinations in South Korea, we selected 8,400,950 subjects aged ≥40 years who underwent health examinations in 2009-2010. We followed them until 2016. Subjects' baseline characteristics were categorized by presence of diabetes (yes/no) and glycemic status as normoglycemi

Coping Strategies and Their Relationship to Psychopathologies in People at Ultra High-Risk for Psychosis and With Schizophrenia
Su Young Lee, Kyung Ran Kim, Jin Young Park, Jong Suk Park, Bora Kim, Jee In Kang, Eun Lee, Suk Kyoon An, Jun Soo Kwon
SJR Q3The Journal of Nervous and Mental DiseaseOA

This study's aim was to investigate coping strategies and their relationship to symptoms in people at ultra high risk (UHR) for psychosis compared with recent-onset schizophrenia (SPR) and healthy controls. Thirty-three UHR participants, 22 SPR patients, and 33 healthy controls completed the Ways of Coping Questionnaire and other clinical measures. People at UHR for psychosis showed significantly more reliance on tension-reduction and less reliance on problem-focused coping than healthy controls
