Professor Eun-Sook Kang's research lab specializes in translational immunology and infectious disease diagnostics, with a focus on host immune responses to viral infections such as SARS-CoV-2 and autoimmune disorders like neuromyelitis optica (NMO). The lab investigates antibody responses, T cell immunity, and immune cell subsets—including Tregs and MDSCs—in cancer and infectious diseases, while also evaluating the performance of serological assays and vaccine immunogenicity. A key emphasis is on developing and validating sensitive, clinically relevant immunoassays for accurate diagnosis and prognosis.
