Professor Hana Kim's research lab focuses on molecular and translational biomedical research, with a strong emphasis on the molecular mechanisms of epigenetic regulation, metabolic disorders, and chronic inflammatory diseases. The lab investigates zinc finger proteins like AEBP2 in chromatin regulation and explores the role of trace elements such as zinc in metabolic syndrome. Additionally, the lab contributes to public health research through environmental and energy sustainability studies, including photovoltaic waste management and HIV epidemiology mapping in underserved populations. These diverse yet interconnected research directions reflect a commitment to understanding disease mechanisms and supporting evidence-based health policy.
