Professor Ho-kyung Yoon's research lab focuses on the intersection of psychiatry, neuroimmunology, and sleep medicine, with a particular emphasis on the role of inflammatory markers and cytokines in mood disorders such as bipolar disorder and depression. 15Contrary to MD, AD has reversed vegetative symptoms, i.e. hypersomnia and hyperphagia. It is assumed that the phenotype difference between AD and MD might be related to Th1 cytokines (IL-2) and Th2 cytokines (IL-4) and not related to monocytic cytokines (IL-6, and TNF-α).

Our results showed an improvement in mental health status in Korean adolescents during the pandemic, but caution is needed when interpreting these results. Future research is needed to determine the effects of a long-lasting pandemic on mental health and lifestyle factors in adolescents.
Our results suggest that the IFN-γ +874A/T polymorphism may have important effects related to susceptibility to BD and that the T allele may be associated with an increased risk of developing BD.
