Professor Hoon Lee's research lab specializes in advanced wireless communication systems with a focus on energy-efficient and secure transmission technologies. The lab explores wireless powered communication networks, where users harvest energy from radio frequency signals to support their communication, and investigates simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) in various network architectures. Key research directions include physical layer security using UAVs and cooperative jamming, beamforming and resource allocation in MIMO and interference channels, and the application of machine learning to optical wireless communication systems. The lab also addresses practical challenges in system design, such as energy storage limitations, signal processing, and spectral efficiency optimization.
