Professor Jang-Won Park's research lab specializes in orthopedic surgery and joint replacement, with a strong focus on improving surgical outcomes through advanced technologies such as robotic assistance and computer navigation in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The lab investigates long-term clinical and radiological outcomes, implant survivorship, and functional recovery in patients undergoing TKA, comparing techniques like robotic-assisted, computer-navigated, and conventional methods. Additionally, the lab explores biomaterials and catalytic systems, including cobalt–rhodium nanoparticle catalysts for sustainable chemical synthesis. Cobalt–rhodium heterobimetallic nanoparticle-catalyzed reductive amination of aldehydes and ketones with amines in the presence of 5 atm carbon monoxide without an external hydrogen source has been developed. We propose a bidirectional add/drop amplifier (BADA) module with an N/spl times/N arrayed waveguide grating multiplexer. The relative intensity noise that degrades bidirectional transmission system severely is suppressed by interleaved wavelength allocation. With two proposed RADA modules, we demonstrate bidirectional transmission and add/drop multiplexing of 8/spl times/2.5 GWs WDM signal over 120-km conventional single mode fiber with less than 0.6 dB power penalty in the receiver sensitivity.
