Professor Jeong Hae-gwan's research lab focuses on environmental health and occupational medicine, with a strong emphasis on the impact of environmental factors—particularly air pollution and climate variability—on human health. The lab investigates the epidemiological links between indoor and outdoor air pollutants, climate change, and chronic diseases such as diabetes, atopic dermatitis, and infectious diseases like dengue, leptospirosis, and malaria. Their work combines longitudinal cohort studies, time-series analyses, and experimental modeling to understand how environmental exposures influence disease progression and transmission dynamics. The lab also explores structural health and rehabilitation, particularly in civil infrastructure through innovative strengthening techniques like jacketing in reinforced concrete beams.
