Professor Jeong Seok Lee's research lab focuses on translational immunology and biomaterials, with a strong emphasis on understanding immune responses in infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and inflammatory conditions like connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD). The lab employs single-cell multi-omics technologies to dissect immune cell heterogeneity and dynamics in human and animal models, aiming to identify key drivers of disease severity and therapeutic response. Additionally, the lab explores bioinspired materials—particularly polydopamine and lignin-based polymers—for regenerative medicine and sustainable energy applications, including rechargeable batteries. These interdisciplinary efforts bridge clinical immunology, biomaterials science, and biomedical engineering to develop novel diagnostics, therapeutics, and functional materials.
