研究室紹介

Professor Ji Eun Nam's research lab focuses on molecular oncology and minimally invasive gynecological surgery, with a strong emphasis on microRNA regulation in ovarian cancer and cancer stem cells. The lab investigates biomarkers such as p16 and Ki-67 for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and high-risk HPV, and explores advanced imaging techniques like 64-slice CT coronary angiography for plaque characterization. Additionally, the lab develops innovative electrochemical biosensors for ultrasensitive protein detection using DNA aptamers and nanoparticle amplification strategies.

SJR Q1Clinical Cancer ResearchOA

PURPOSE: Although microRNAs have recently been recognized as riboregulators of gene expression, little is known about microRNA expression profiles in serous ovarian carcinoma. We assessed the expression of microRNA and the association between microRNA expression and the prognosis of serous ovarian carcinoma. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN: Twenty patients diagnosed with serous ovarian carcinoma and eight patients treated for benign uterine disease between December 2000 and September 2003 were enrolled in t

CIN grade were positively related to the expression of p16 and Ki-67. p16 expressions of high-risk HPV specimens significantly increased more than Ki-67. Therefore, in the diagnosis of CIN and high-risk HPV infection, p16 can be a useful biomarker.

SJR Q3BMC Medical GenomicsOA

BACKGROUND: Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are thought to be a source of tumor recurrence due to their stem cell-like properties. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) regulate both normal stem cells and CSCs, and dysregulation of miRNAs has an important role in tumorigenesis. Cluster of differentiation (CD) 133(+) and spheroid formation have been reported to be one of the main features of ovarian CSCs. Therefore, we determined the miRNA expression profile of a CD133(+) spheroid-forming subpopulation of the OVCAR3 human

Mutation landscape of germline and somatic BRCA1/2 in patients with high-grade serous ovarian cancer

SJR Q2BMC CancerOA

BACKGROUND: Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors targeting BRCA1/2 mutations are available for treating patients with high-grade serous ovarian cancer. These treatments may be more appropriately directed to patients who might respond if the tumor tissue is additionally tested by next-generation sequencing with a multi-gene panel and Sanger sequencing of a blood sample. In this study, we compared the results obtained using the next-generation sequencing multi-gene panel to a known germline BRC

Highly sensitive electrochemical detection of proteins using aptamer-coated gold nanoparticles and surface enzyme reactions

SJR Q2The Analyst

A novel electrochemical detection methodology is described for the femtomolar detection of proteins which utilizes both DNA aptamer-functionalized nanoparticles and a surface enzymatic reaction. Immunoglobulin E (IgE) was used as a model protein biomarker, which possesses two distinct epitopes for antibody (anti-IgE) and DNA aptamer binding. A surface sandwich assay format was utilized involving the specific adsorption of IgE onto a gold electrode surface that was pre-modified with a monolayer o

Primary and recurrent ovarian high-grade serous carcinomas display similar microRNA expression patterns relative to those of normal ovarian tissue

SJR Q2OncotargetOA

Most patients with epithelial ovarian cancer eventually die due to recurrence. However, little is known about the microRNA (miRNA) expression pattern and its involvement in recurrent ovarian cancer. We analyzed miRNA expression profiles related to the recurrence of advanced ovarian high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) using miRNA microarrays. Between May 2006 and December 2012, 37 ovarian HGSC patients underwent secondary cyto-debulking surgery at recurrence. Among them, only 8 pairs of primary an
