Professor Ji-Soo Lee's research lab focuses on immunology and translational medicine, with a central emphasis on B cell biology, particularly the identification and functional characterization of pre-naïve B cells in human immune development and autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The lab investigates the role of these intermediate B cell subsets in immune regulation, autoimmunity, and their potential as therapeutic targets. Additionally, the lab explores the impact of natural bioactive compounds—such as those from walnuts—on cancer stem cells, highlighting a translational interest in nutraceuticals for cancer therapy. The research integrates flow cytometry, in vitro differentiation assays, and clinical data analysis to bridge basic immunology with human disease mechanisms.
