研究室紹介
Professor Jin Hee Ahn's research lab focuses on structural engineering and seismic performance of civil infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on shear connectors, composite steel-concrete joints, and underground structures under dynamic and seismic loading. The lab conducts experimental and analytical studies on push-out tests, fatigue behavior, and seismic response of structural components such as perfobond rib connectors and corrugated steel details, aiming to improve structural safety, ductility, and design efficiency. Recent work also extends to societal responses during public health crises, including sentiment and topic analysis of social media during the COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting an interdisciplinary approach to engineering and societal resilience.

15In this study, a series of push-out tests for perfobond rib shear connectors were conducted to examine their shear behaviour under static and cyclic loading. The test specimens were designed to examine the effects of the concrete dowel actions, transverse rebars in the rib holes and cyclic load. The effect of the pure concrete dowel actions was observed as 65% of the static shear capacity in test specimens without transverse rebars, and the transverse rebars in the rib holes increased the shear
Tunnels, culverts, and subway stations are the main parts of an integrated infrastructure system. Most of them are constructed by the cut-and-cover method at shallow depths (mainly lower than 30 m) of soil deposits, where large-scale seismic ground deformation can occur with lower stiffness and strength of the soil. Therefore, the transverse racking deformation (one of the major seismic ground deformation) due to soil shear deformations should be included in the seismic design of underground str
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the entire world, resulting in a tremendous change to people's lifestyles. We investigated the Korean public response to COVID-19 vaccines on social media from 23 February 2021 to 22 March 2021. We collected tweets related to COVID-19 vaccines using the Korean words for "coronavirus" and "vaccines" as keywords. A topic analysis was performed to interpret and classify the tweets, and a sentiment analysis was conducted to analyze public emotions displayed within
Push-out tests were carried out to examine the shear strength of corrugated perfobond rib shear connections. The corrugated perfobond rib shear connection, formed by folding the straight perfobond rib steel panel, can be expected to increase the shear capacity and ductility of a shear connector due to the shear resistance and deformation of the inclined rib panel. To examine the shear behaviour of the corrugated perfobond rib connection and compare it with that of the perfobond rib, the push-out
