Professor Jin Young Yoon's research lab focuses on advancing the understanding and management of Parkinson's disease (PD) and related neurodegenerative disorders through multimodal approaches. The lab specializes in identifying biomarkers—particularly autophagy-related proteins and CSF-based markers—for early diagnosis and disease monitoring. It also investigates motor and non-motor symptoms such as motor fluctuations, freezing of gait, falls, and autonomic dysfunction using clinical assessments, neuroimaging (e.g., DTI), and wearable technology combined with machine learning. The lab aims to develop objective, wearable-based tools for real-time monitoring of disease states, especially 'On' and 'Off' medication phases, to improve patient care in home settings.
