Professor Juhoe Kim's research lab focuses on enhancing learning and decision-making in digital environments through data-driven design. The lab explores educational technology, particularly the analysis of video engagement patterns in online learning platforms like MOOCs and YouTube, to inform the development of intelligent video navigation and interaction techniques. It also investigates the design of interactive systems that support public engagement with complex information, such as government budgets, by integrating open data and news. A recurring theme is leveraging user interaction data to create more intuitive, transparent, and effective digital tools for education and civic participation.
