15The complication rate after posterior fusion and instrumentation for degenerative lumbar scoliosis was 68%. Abundant blood loss was a significant risk factor for early perioperative complications. The improvement of Oswestry disability index was less in patients with late complications.
This paper presents a full-CMOS transmitter and receiver for 2.0-GHz wide-band code division multiple access with direct conversion mixers and a DC-offset cancellation scheme. The direct conversion scheme combined with a multiphase sampling fractional-N prescaler alleviates the problems of the direct conversion transmitter and receiver. Digital gain control is merged into the baseband filters and variable-gain amplifiers to optimize the linearity of the system, reduce the noise, and improve the
Biomedical-named entity recognition (bNER) is critical in biomedical informatics. It identifies biomedical entities with special meanings, such as people, places, and organizations, as predefined semantic types in electronic health records (EHR). bNER is essential for discovering novel knowledge using computational methods and Information Technology. Early bNER systems were configured manually to include domain-specific features and rules. However, these systems were limited in handling the comp
Recently, piezoresistive-type (PRT) pressure sensors have been gaining attention in variety of applications due to their simplicity, low cost, miniature size and ruggedness. The electrical behavior of a pressure sensor is highly dependent on the temperature gradient which seriously degrades its reliability and reduces measurement accuracy. In this paper, polynomial-based adaptive digital temperature compensation is presented for automotive piezoresistive pressure sensor applications. The non-lin
In this paper, a low-power reconfigurable ambient Radio Frequency to Direct Current power (RF–DC) converter using an internal threshold voltage cancellation (IVC) scheme with an auxiliary transistors block is presented. A maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is implemented in order to maintain the high efficiency by automatically selecting the number of stages. The proposed reconfigurable converter efficiently converts the RF signals to DC voltage by dynamically controlling the threshol
This literature review explores artificial intelligence (AI) technology trends and IBM Watson health and medical references. This study explains how healthcare will be changed by the evolution of AI technology, and also summarizes key technologies in AI, specifically the technology of IBM Watson. We look at this issue from the perspective of ‘information overload,’ in that medical literature doubles every three years, with approximately 700,000 new scientific articles being published every year,
BACKGROUND: Pakistan is the world's sixth most populated country, with a population of approximately 208 million people. Despite this, just 25% of legitimate couples say they have used modern contraceptive methods. A large body of literature has indicated that sexual satisfaction is a complex and multifaceted concept, since it involves physical and cultural components. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of influencing factors in terms of contraceptive self-efficacy (CSE), con
Nowadays Enterprises are pursuing Digital Transformation to build a new business model and internal processes. Cloud Computing, Big Data, Mobile and Social are top subject and the direction is how to integrate their legacy process and make a convergence to new model. AI and Deep learning technology are rapidly emerged and becoming really critical of new solutions and the solution definitely uses cloud platform by API services and Pre-built assets. It drives API economy growth by global service p
A great deal of attention is being paid to the common-rail direct injection (CRDI) diesel engine as a promising technology for enhancing engine performance and satisfying stringent emission regulations. In a conventional CRDI diesel engine, the start of combustion (SOC) is controlled in an open-loop manner by adjusting the start of energizing (SOE) of an injector. The open-loop SOC control cannot compensate for unexpected variations in the injection delay and ignition delay resulting from cycle-
A design of low-power 10-bit 1 MS/s asynchronous successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter (SAR ADC) is presented in this paper. To improve the linearity of the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and energy efficiency, a common mode-based monotonic charge recovery (CMMC) switching technique is proposed. The proposed switching technique consumes only 63.75 CVREF2 switching energy, which is far less as compared to the conventional switching technique without dividing or adding a
(1) Background: The appearance of physician rating websites (PRWs) has raised researchers' interest in the online healthcare field, particularly how users consume information available on PRWs in terms of online physician reviews and providers' information in their decision-making process. The aim of this study is to consistently review the early scientific literature related to digital healthcare platforms, summarize key findings and study features, identify literature deficiencies, and suggest
A low power 12-bit, 20 MS/s asynchronously controlled successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to be used in wireless access for vehicular environment (WAVE) intelligent transportation system (ITS) sensor based application is presented in this paper. To optimize the architecture with respect to power consumption and performance, several techniques are proposed. A switching method which employs the common mode charge recovery (CMCR) switching process is presented
