Professor Ki-Ho Park's research lab specializes in the intersection of nanomaterials and biological systems, focusing on the development and application of carbon-based nanomaterials—such as single-walled carbon nanotubes and fullerenes—as novel modulators of ion channels. The lab also investigates the molecular mechanisms of melatonin in osteogenic differentiation and explores the diagnostic utility of optical coherence tomography (OCT) parameters in glaucoma, particularly in high-risk populations like those with high myopia. Here we identify a novel class of biological membrane ion channel blockers called single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs).
