Professor Kyung-Jin Min's research lab focuses on aging biology and environmental influences on lifespan regulation, particularly through insulin/IGF signaling and dietary restriction pathways in model organisms like *Drosophila melanogaster* and *C. elegans*. The lab also investigates environmental and lifestyle factors—such as passive smoking, alcohol consumption, and HPV viral load—that influence cancer progression, especially cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). Additionally, the lab explores environmental biotechnology applications, including the electrodialysis-based separation of heavy metals from industrial wastewater. These diverse research directions reflect a strong emphasis on translational biomedical research with implications for public health and sustainable technology.

In this study, the separation of metals from electroplating wastewater using an electrodialysis system was investigated. The separation efficiency of the metal ions increased as the applied voltage was increased from 6 to 18 V. However, at 18 V white sediments formed due to the high current density.
